In Case You Missed It: Peonila, Villarin of Spectrum emerge victorious of PF SUB1 Challenge

At least 500 runners across Visayas Regions joined this years’ Pinoy Fitness SUB1 10K Challenge held last Sunday at SM City Cebu Grounds.

Erl Peonila emerged champion among SUB1 wave runners. Peonila who hails from Dumaguete City and member of  Spectrum Runners set straight with 35 minutes and 55 seconds . Ian Rafuela who is also from Pionela’s team came second with 36 minutes and 10 seconds. Abelito Neiz of Team ADR came third with 36 minutes and 28 minutes.

While in female division was notched by Evamie Villarin, who also from Spectrum Runners. Villarin set  43 minutes and 39 seconds  bit far from her runners up . Maria Stephan Jayson of Paksit Photos came second with time of 46:14 while  Ezel Conde of Team PhiLDR came third with time of 49:49.

The said top runners received qualifying medals and podium plaque. Runners who pursued within an hour or less also received the said qualifying medals. After 15 minutes from 5 am gun start of  SUB1 wave,  48 runners participated the fun wave category which was won by Levert Clyde Mungas with 57:03 and Sheryl Olanda, 1:09 in their respective divisions.

Pinoy Fitness SUB1 10K Challenge is a test of everyone’s fitness through breaking a 10 kilometer route in one hour or less. For aspiring marathoners, 10K is a very basic and foundation and has been a holy grail for most of the runners, especially those in the track and field sports.
