Oporto, Alvarez dominate Cebu NW 100 Miles Ultra

Cebu’s multi-titled ultra-runner Rhoda Oporto won women’s class of 3rd Cebu Northwest 160 Kilometer Ultramarathon. Oporto ranked third over-all of 33 pursuers had clocked 25 hours and 37 hours at the finish line set at Plaza Independencia.

While veteran ultra-runner, Bayani Avarez of men’s category was named over-all champion with official time of 19 hours and 18 minutes.

This year Alvarez also won Hardcore Event’s  2nd Cebu Southwest 210 Kilometer Ultra last June. While Oporto on May, claimed top female spot from PAU’s grand slam event with grueling distance of  320 kilometer in Sta Ana, Cagayan Valley.

Cebu Northwest 160 kilometers ultramarathon race was hosted by Hardcore Events Inc. The  race kicked off at Daanbantayan Municipal Hall, north Cebu on November 18 at 12AM, amd mapped via Transcentral Cebu to finish line in Cebu City on November 19 at 10AM following strict cut off time of 34 hours.
