Meet your first woman to finish 342 Km in PH Longest Ultra

Manila-based Roselle Abajo of Team Soleus successfully completed the country’s toughest and longest ultramarathon race on November 1st. As the only female of 10 runners, she now holds the record as lone female warrior to have finished the race. Having it finished in 7th place, she was awarded a Bronze fin buckle based on categorical  official time,  a finisher’s medal and trophy. 

The 3rd Manila-Daet (Bicol) 342km Endurance Race 2017 was joined by only tough ones represented by ultra runners across the country. At 10:20 evening October 28th the race kicked off at Rizal Park in Manila panning Philippine Highways all the way to Bantayog Shrine in Daet, Camarines Sur.

Roselle has been active in ultra running since 2011. She joined to prove her mental toughness and physical strength. That running a long distance isn’t only for boys but for girls too. She is personally advocating to woman empowerment though sports as she is wanting to be an inspiration by others. She continues attending races to develop her skills in athletics and become a better one.

Though she is a mother of two and full time employee, she is securing not to remiss with all her responsibilities. On weekends, she spared herself to various training programs. 

She has been pride of BBG community , since most of her ultra races were podiums. A week ago, she made herself in the podium stage by finishing 1st runner up for female category in recent Island of Catanduanes Ultramarathon (ICUM) for 50k category.

By finishing the said race, it is only a proof and a validation that she is truly a BBG Superstar and a “mamaw” in the running community.

Now that she finished her long dreamt ultra, she is now setting her good luck in One Cebu’s 550 Kilometer Ultramarathon to be scheduled later.
